AUSPAN INFORM AUGUST 2024

Written by Jeff Alagar | 12 August 2024

Hello and welcome to the AUSPAN Ag Inform for August.

Bringing Dowerin Downtown

If you’re a regular reader of our Ag Informs, you’ll know that we were very much looking forward to the Bringing Dowerin Downtown event that took place on Friday July 26 at Crown. This was the third year in a row that the event has been held and judging by the numbers in attendance and the quality of the panels, we’re sure this event will be around for many years to come.(Picture credit John Koh)

Field Days 2024 Update

It’s that time of year when it’s all about the field days and can we just start by congratulating the Mingenew Midwest Expo team for an outstanding job putting together this year’s event. It was also great to meet some new faces and also to catch up with some of you that we’ve known for years. By the time our September Inform comes out we’ll have also been to both Dowerin and Newdegate, so we can’t wait for those two events as well. Just a reminder on how to find us at those two events, we’ll be at site #256 at Dowerin and site #75 at Newdegate, so please come and say g’day.

48 x 24 x 6.8m Machinery Shed in Coomberdale

One of our favourite things to do here at AUSPAN is to catch up with farmers to see what they think of their shed after it’s been finished. Recently we were in the Coomberdale area to visit Tim Crombie, but as all of you will be well aware, sometimes farming throws a few curveballs your way, so unfortunately Tim wasn’t available when we arrived. Not to be deterred however, we still got plenty of great footage of his 48x24x6.8m Machinery Shed, so please feel free to check it out.

24 x 16 x 5.1m Machinery Shed in Donnybrook

Normally when we show some of your recently completed sheds, they’re pretty far inland, but two of this month’s sheds are almost within touching distance of the ocean. Not far from Bunbury is Donnybrook and this 24x16x5.1m Machinery Shed that we recently built for Michael Goddard. With four windows and two lockable personal access doors, this shed also features three roller doors, two of which are powered, which Michael is probably thankful for at the end of a long day.

140 x 24 x 10m Open End Rail Facility in Bunbury

Staying in the Bunbury area, and this is one of the largest sheds we’ve featured in our Informs this year. This is a 140x24x10m Open End Rail Facility shed that we completed for JP Metals back in 2022 as part of the Bunbury Outer Ring Road project. Although we completed this shed a couple of years ago, the reason it’s being featured now is that we have recently made some modifications to the building and were able to get some up-to-date photos of the site.

64 x 30 x 5.95m Shearing Shed in Condingup

Although we don’t build as many shearing sheds as other types of sheds, when we get the opportunity, we love to show them off. This is a 64x30x5.95 project that we built in Condingup for Nick Ruddenclau from Epasco Farms and as you’ll see from the video, it looks like the sheep are pretty happy about their new shed too! As well as the solid core personal access door, bottom-rolled sliding door, and 5 top-hung sliding doors, being a shearing shed the building also features 30 l/m of 200mm ridge vent and six shearing shed wall shutters. All up this eight-stand shearing shed features 450m2 of storage and over 1,100 head... raised, dry holding area.riculture

To get a glimpse of this new shed in operation check out this great video from our good friends at Commander Agriculture, who once again have done a magnificent job on the fit-out of yet another one of our shearing sheds.

So that’s it for this month. If you’re heading to Mingenew, remember to pop in and see us at site #206. All the best for the rest of July and we look forward to getting back in touch next month.

All the best for the rest of August and we look forward to getting back in touch next month.
