Hello and welcome to the AUSPAN Ag Inform for October.
A few months ago we filmed a case study for a 32m x 15m x 4.5m shearing shed we had recently completed for Kane Hinkley in Jackitup, not far from the AUSPAN HQ in Gnowangerup. Some of the features of this shed include wall shutter and roof ventilation, plastic grating, covered lean-to for dry storage, lighting throughout & wide access doors. We have just been back to this shed to see it in action, so in this short video Ben MacFarlane from Franklin River Shearing Services gives us a tour of the shed and explains how “awesome sheds like this, makes a hard job easy”.
Next week we will be emailing our 2024 Annual Survey to all of you, so this is just a heads up to keep an eye out for it. We’ve taken care to make the survey short and to the point to ensure that everyone can simply enter for 2 reasons: 1.) to help to guide AUSPAN’s business offering to the WA market & 2.) so that you have a chance of landing a handy $500 before Christmas. To make this particularly attractive we’ve boosted the number of available prizes from two to ten. We do really appreciate your input to this annual AUSPAN survey as it does help to shape our continuously improving offering to the WA market.
And now it’s time to take a trip around the state and check out some of our recently completed sheds, and we’re going to start in Hyden and this 48x32x8.05m Machinery Shed with two lean-to’s and a mezzanine that we recently completed for Craig Mayfield from Mayfield Grains. This shed also features four PA doors, six sliding doors, three roller doors, and 2 x 24m clear span openings.
Just under an hour’s drive to the west is Kulin and this 40x18x6.5m Machinery Shed with 5 x 8m bays that we built for Patricia Tyson. (Picture Credit: Bignell Contractors Pty Ltd)
And just over two hours south of Kulin we arrive at Jerramungup and 2 large Grain & Fertiliser bulk storage sheds for Anthon Viljoen at Lawson Grains. Some of the features of these sheds include 54x40m bunkers with 3m push walls and 10m tipping height, double track sliding door systems to achieve large clear span openings & auger pits for efficient outloading.
So that’s it for this month. All the best for the rest of November and we look forward to getting back in touch in December for the final Aug Inform for the year.
