9 September 2024
Hello and welcome to the AUSPAN Ag Inform for September.
After completing the month-long field day trifecta of Mingenew, Dowerin and Newdegate, our team had the opportunity to have many conversations with farmers during this time, and we’re pleased to share that there is a noticeable lift in optimism across the Wheatbelt which is great news!
Recently we took a trip up to the north of the region where we revisited a 40x30x7m Machinery Shed we completed last year for Glen Millsteed from Sheoak Spring at Mocardy. Unfortunately, Glen was tied up on the day we were there, but as you can see from the video, we were still able to get plenty of footage of this great looking shed. This shed features 3x PA doors, 6 x 8m double track, bottom-rolled sliding doors, a single powered roller door, 2 x 16m girder trusses for clearspan openings, a 30 x 8m open bay, and insulation to the roof, walls and sliding doors.
Since Dowerin Machinery Field Days has just been and gone, we thought for our featured sheds this month we’d show you two of the four sheds we’ve recently completed as part of our major sponsorship of the event. Aside from the two new ticket booths that were constructed in time for the 2023 event, we have since constructed this 24x6x3m Hockey Shed for the local Dowerin community, which will be used as a food and beverage outlet while the field days event is operating. Featuring 6 x 4m bays, 3 roller doors, 1 PA door and a glass sliding door, this new addition to the site proved to be a valuable addition to the food and beverage options at this year’s event.
Not to be outdone, this much larger 64x24x6m Multipurpose Shed which will serve as the Ram Shed during the field days, took pride of place amongst all the structures at this year’s event, and will continue to do so for many field days to come. With a PA door and an 8m bottom-rolled sliding door, as well as a girder truss to create a 16m clearspan opening, the rams definitely seemed to enjoy their new home!
And lastly, a couple of hours drive south of Dowerin and we arrive at Aldersyde and this 56x24x7.5m Machinery Shed for Darrell Turner, who is actually a third time repeat AUSPAN client. With 7x 8m bays and 3x 16m girder trusses for clearspan openings, it looks like Darrell’s machinery is going to be well taken care of from now on.
And to finish off, we’re excited to let you know about an incredibly fun event taking place in Gnowangerup on Saturday 5th October called Wild Gravel. If you’re into running, cycling or both, you’re going to love this event! With the beauty of the Stirling Ranges as a backdrop, participants can choose from a variety of distances, so it doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned rider or trail-running enthusiast, Wild Gravel has the perfect challenge for you. There will be plenty of other activities over the weekend including an after-party, so to register or for more info head to wildgravel.com.au.
So all the best for the rest of September and we look forward to getting back in touch next month.
