Hey everyone, and welcome to the AUSPAN Commercial Inform for October.
It’s the final Inform for 2023 and it’s looking like an exciting end to the year for the AUSPAN Commercial team and our clients! We’ve got several projects that are well passed the half-way stage, so while we always enjoy providing you with progress reports, we can’t wait to be able to show you these once they’re completed.
Speaking of completed jobs, we recently published another case study, this one located in Wickepin, approximately 220 km south-east of Perth. At more than 13,000 square metres, this is a de-gritting plant for our client WA Kaolin.
If you’re wondering what kaolin is, it’s a clay mineral widely used in the manufacture of rubber, paint, and paper, it’s an essential ingredient in the manufacture of china and porcelain, and the resource at Wickepin is one of the largest known remaining primary resources of kaolin globally. In the case study we catch up with the CEO of WA Kaolin, Andrew Sorensen, who provides some background on the project, and has a great tip for anyone looking to embark on a commercial building project. Just click on the link below to view the whole case study.
We’re heading up to Port Hedland now and this 17m high workshop and adjoining tilt panel office building for Minerals House. The design parameters included requirements for a 200 tonne overhead gantry crane and lower 20 tonne gantry crane loadings, tilt panel designs & full cyclonic Wind Region D loading. We’re very much looking forward to the completion of this project in early 2024, and for the full progress report, you may check the video below.
Heading south now and this is the site of our client Cable Jointing in East Rockingham. Once completed this will be 1,085m2 of warehouse floor, 183m2 of mezzanine, and 584m2 of two storey offices.
We’re now at the stage where the building erection has been completed, the internal fit out has commenced, and we are working towards the project being completed by the end of November, and we can’t wait to come back down to Rockingham and bring you a case study on the completed building. Just click on the link below for the full progress report.
And as we continue our journey south, we now find ourselves in Bunbury, at the site of our client Direct Freight Express, a 1,700m2 warehouse with office and amenities. Here are a couple of pics taken back in July, and since then we’ve completed the building erection as well as the roofing and cladding.
The internal concreting has also been finished, as has the external hard standing. So with completion scheduled prior to the end of October, all that’s left to do now is the landscaping and fencing. As with our Cable Jointing project, we’re also looking forward to getting back to Bunbury and providing you with the full case study.
If you’ve been following our socials for the past few months, you may have noticed that each month we hold BBQs and other lunch events at our six different office locations, where we ask each of our team to make a gold coin donation, which is matched by AUSPAN. While all the charities that we support are incredibly special and do an amazing job, we just wanted to highlight our chosen charity for October.
Telethon is a WA institution supporting the welfare of children and young people, as well as funding research into children’s diseases. If you’re not already doing something for Telethon this year, you’ve still got time to put something together, so head over to the Telethon website and get your thinking caps on!
So that’s it for this edition of the Commercial Inform. All the best for the rest of the year and we look forward bringing an update to you in January 2024!
